Indian Institution for Production
Management, Kansbahal has taken up a highly challenging
assignment of conducting an ITI equivalent course
for the workmen. The concept of the programme
is to educate unskilled personnel of any engineering
organization to bring them at par with skilled
counter part.
Purpose
The objective of the course
is to impart the most modern training to improve
skill and knowledge of the workmen to be equal
to the ITI level by which their productivity can
be enhanced.
Eligibility
Unskilled or semiskilled
employees whose more capability is underutilized
due to lack of knowledge and who have minimum
educational qualification of class-Vlll are eligible
to take part in this training.
A minimum of 20 participants per batch is to be
sponsored by the organization.

Methodology
The training consists
of three sessions of four months each. In
each session, three months will be spent
at IIPM campus covering theoretical aspects
followed by one month of practical training
at their own work place / workshop.
Test
A number of tests will
be conducted during each session including
a site evolution for the practical applications.
Who has been benefited till date?
NTPC- Talcher Thermal Power
Station has taken a bold step in the process of
skill development of their employees and has deputed
40 persons in the first batch from 16.01.2003
in the trades of Fitter, Electrician & Instrument
Mechanic. The programme has been progressing successfully
and very well taken by NTPC management.
ITC- Munger has come forward in the process of
skill development of their employees in the
trade of FITTER and has deputed
a batch of 20 persons for a period of one year with
effect from 04 December 2007.
